A good way to learning Languages fast

is to learn to read blogs in other languages like this one, quickly Esther's Kitchen

Culinary blogs have an in-built test in them if you are trying the recipes. A pity German cuisine is rather bland. I've come across a learning guide that's supposed to take only a few weeks.

When I was in school we used flash cards one term. My German went from comme-ci comme-ca to top of the class. But the subject matter was mostly tourist fare, more often never tried again. Pity.

Word Press or Moveable type

Words of the wise or those in the know.

Move to Word Press

I'll have to evaluate them both. It appears they are doing what I am : sticking with Google Ads in the hope of making some money.
But the preferences for Wordpress is that's what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.

Thank you drunken blogger for your input.

Green Rice

someone who meant to tattoo 精 (jing1) "essence, semen, spirit " on his elbows, but by splitting the character into the two radicals 米 (mi3) "uncooked rice" and 青 (qing1 or jing1) "blue, green, black; young", managed instead to display "green rice".

Comparisons of IKEA and Democracy

I have the pleasurable task of reading the following two books.

The Object Advantage and Studies in Classic American Literature. Creating the proper alignment of strategy, process and technology is what has occupied businesses over the past decade of which Information Systems is just a resource.

Formal re-engineering process : A description that specifies every activity and deliverable involved. This process description must be adaptable to the re-engineering project.

Movable type

I am thinking of moving this blog to be published under Movable Type.

I have no idea what this really means.

Uncontrolled Vocabularies

Uncontrolled Vocabularies

and related language links on the side-bar have a lot to say on the idiosyncracies of languages. Map the author is Russian born and reveals an amazing depth of understanding of the spoken and written English language. On things that English speakers take for granted because it is so, Map asks why should it be so. Then goes on to explain why it is so and is usually right. One has to be extra grammatically correct posting, especially around Map.

Remembering this, in a post on a Java forum, I hastily changed a sentence from
"Pheasants have their necks wrung" which suggests an unconvincing degree of pheasant compliance to the ordeal, to "Pheasants' necks are wrung".

Living In Egypt

This blog is an amazing read. Handpicked by Google as a Blogger of Note and
you only have to read a few posts to see why.Living In Egypt

lexis, idiolect and orthography

Or words, speech and spelling. Imagine being taught lexis, idiolect and orthography and the teacher never lets on that what they really mean are words, speech and spelling. The words convey much more meaning than simple words, speech and spelling.
