I am thinking of moving this blog to be published under Movable Type.
I have no idea what this really means.

Maybe you meant typepad? Movabletype is a back-end blogging software you can run on a server which gives you more control... typepad is a service that does all the hard back-end stuff for you, but gives you less control. Sort of like blogger.
